I find it interesting that Italy has signed on the the notion that they will not parade models that are too skinny. An Italian Minister, the president of the Italian Fashion Chamber and others signed the code late last year.

Smile I think it is great that they are doing this, but if you look at the models that they are parading today, it doesn't seem like they are that "healthy" to me. They still seem a little too skinny. Your thoughts?

I think it is great that they stop parading around half naked women who look like they survive on a single grain of rice or a piece of lettuce each day. They don't look normal. No one I know looks like these models. They look sickly and undernourished with dark circles under their sunken eyes. I find it hard to believe that any man would find someone THAT thin to be attractive. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that the models should be at the other end of the spectrum either, because that isn't a healthy image to portray either. I say good for the Italians for making a stand!

Those Brazilian models didn't actually die from anorexia, the sisters both had heart defects and died from cardiac arrest, so at some point in the media chain, they assumed their deaths as models, had something to do with anorexia. That said I think it's a fine balance in model's weight. Models who are too skinny make me feel queasy but at the same time, I don't expect chubby women to be walking down the aisle - that isn't a healthy role model either.

But did anyone see that Anna Nicole Smith actually died from comlications due to pneumonia..not drug overdose? She battled with her weight from the beginning. The world places too much emphasis on the LOOKS of people and less and less of what is on the inside. We seem to swing from one end of the spectrum to the other and rarely an even balance in the middle.

the thing that makes women attractive in my opinion is healthy and curvy. and i am proud to say i got that going on right now!
growing up the whole skinny model thing made me feel really conflicted about what i am and what the world thought i should be.

My little sis went through a throwing up to get ultra skinny stage for a while which was rather lame. she was reading all that vogue, cosmo rubbish that pumped crap right into the insecurity receptor of her brain.
she has come to her sense's now and is looking like a total glamor.

Tis bout time fashionistas started being a little more realistic. only time i wanna see a bag of bones dressed up fancy is in a coffin.

You're quite right... what's there to admire about a girl who's all skin and bones, and nothing to hold on to?! There's something to be said about a healthy, curvacious (or similar) girl who can hold her head high without needing to drop to a size 8 just to fit with the "in" crowd.

i think girls think guys want these boney skinny girls.
fact is, well for me anyhow and my friends will think the same, curvy girls that are healthy and full of life are better and more attractive.
examples are Monica Bellucci or even models like Megan Gale, etc.

Hi. I just want to say that I like a lady with curves and shape. I don't want to be with someone who can't eat a proper meal and who worries about her weight all the time. Wink
